Study Of Anatomy | Sketchbook
These sketches from my collection are quick studies focused on capturing the correct proportions and essential features of the human body. My goal with these exercises is to sharpen my observation skills and synchronize my hand movements with what my eyes see, ensuring I can accurately translate observed reality onto paper. Concentrating on the nude form is vital for grasping the structures that lie beneath clothing. This understanding is critical for realistically depicting how clothing falls on a body and how muscles respond to movement.
Starting from my days in art college, where every lecture began with such sketching exercises, I learned the importance of a solid foundation in human anatomy for any artist. Though I sketch less frequently now and the number of daily sketches has reduced, I continue practicing to keep my freehand sketching skills sharp and polished.
"A sketch a day keeps stagnation at bay", my quote to remind myself to practice everyday.
